Hiking with my kiddos!

This past Saturday, March 12, I ran a Trail 5K in the morning at the US National Whitewater Center. It was awesome! I think it is the first event I've done since the stupid marathon. And I found out today that I placed 3rd in my age group. It wasn't a huge event but I still feel good about placing. I guess I should stick to 5Ks. Again...no marathon for me again! Anyway, that afternoon I took the kids back to the USNWC to see the water. They died it green for St. Patty's Day! It was great. The kids got a kick out of the green water and they wanted to hike in the woods. They hiked, watched the rafters, climbed some big rocks and tried to pet every dog at the Center. (This is a picture taken while hiking. The kids were sporting thier new St. Patty's shirts from Aunt Shelly & Uncle Greg. ) We had a great day! I think we're going to venture to the St. Patrick's Day Parade this Saturday too. I'm hoping to pass down my love for this holiday. Erin Go Bragh!

Let's go Bobcats!

We took Kevin and his cousin, Hayes, to a Bobcats game. We were literally on the row farthest away from the court but they didn't seem to mind. Our seats were even above the blimp. You know your seats are bad when you look down on the blimp - HA! It was a lot of fun though - so much to look at when your 3 and 5 years old.

No curls for a day!

I got a new straightening iron and tried it out on my curly-haired child. It works! She looked beautiful but I missed her little curls.

Finally a warm day!

It's finally in the 60's - good weather to go outside and burn some energy. As you can see they have very different styles - the princess in her formal wear and the boy in his clothes with no buttons or zippers. Reagan had her first non-family sleepover last night. They missed each other and are happy to be playing together again today...outside!

Snow- YAY! Ice- BOO!

I haven't had to work too much this week...We got snow on Monday (1/10) and it iced over on Tuesday (1/11). We - the kids and I - were out of work/school both days. Tim had to work both days.
Monday was alot of fun. We played in the snow and drank hot cocoa. Tuesday was good too but there was a layer of ice on everything. It was good for sledding down the hill in the backyard but not so good to walk on. Wednesday was back to work, but to be honest, it was nice to get out of the house. However, Reagan ended up with a fever and had to get picked up early from daycare. I took her to the doctor today and she has Strepp Throat and an Ear Infection so it's half-days Thursday and Friday.
The good part is that Reagan is in good spirits and her medicine is working well. She won't be contagious by tomorrow evening and has been cleared by the doctor to attend her Chuck E. Cheese party and her visit to Grey & Papa's on Saturday!
So, here's wishing for a quick recovery for Reagan and some warmer weather for Charlotte - please melt the ice!

Snow Day!

Jan. 10 - It is snowing a lot today. It is quite possibly the most snow that I have ever seen. The snow is really soft which makes it difficult to make snowballs or snowmen but it is still fun to play in!

We're not in FL anymore...

After 5 days of warm and sunny weather in FL this is what we returned home to...a beautiful snow covered lawn.

Fun w/5 year olds!

We went to FL for Christmas and had a great time. Unfortunately, Shawn and Drea got sick but we got to keep their little one with us for two whole days. That was good quality time with my niece and lots of fun.
